Zoho People vs Jisr for Qatar Companies

Jisr is a Qatari HR and payroll platform built around Qatar's government systems; Zoho People and Payroll are the HR apps of Zoho One. This comparison sets out what decides it for a Qatari employer.

The short version

Jisr is designed for Qatari HR from the ground up: payroll with GRSIA and WPS, integrations with government portals, Arabic-first self-service and the workflows Qatari HR teams run daily. Zoho People and Zoho Payroll cover HR, attendance, leave, performance and payroll with GRSIA and WPS configured, in Arabic and English, and connect natively to Zoho Books, CRM, Projects and the rest of the suite.

We are a Zoho Premium Partner and do not implement Jisr. The comparison usually arises in companies already on Zoho for sales or accounting that want HR in the same suite, or Jisr users whose finance and operations moved to Zoho. The sections below decide it.

Qatar payroll and government systems

Both run Qatar payroll with GRSIA contributions and WPS files. Jisr's strength is its focus on Qatar's portals and processes; Zoho Payroll is configured for GRSIA and WPS and produces the required outputs, with portal interactions handled through files and reports where direct interfaces are not available. See Zoho People and Payroll and GRSIA integration.

Who should choose which

  • Choose Jisr if HR is a standalone decision and the deepest possible focus on Qatar government processes is the priority.
  • Choose Zoho People if you run or plan to run Zoho Books, CRM or Zoho One and want payroll journals, project timesheets and employee data in one suite.
The Qatar view

Zoho People vs Jisr for Qatar Companies: what matters in Qatar

HR software in Qatar has to produce the Wage Protection System file, track Qatar ID, residence permit, passport and contract dates, accrue leave and end-of-service under the Labour Law, handle Ramadan hours and calculate GRSIA for Qatari staff. Features built for another Gulf market do not always map one to one.
