ERPNext Migration and Version Upgrade in Qatar

Moving your business onto ERPNext from another system, or moving your ERPNext from an old version to a current one. Both are data and customisation problems first, and we treat them that way.

  • Migration from Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, SAP Business One, Odoo, Zoho or a custom ERP
  • Upgrades across ERPNext versions with custom apps reviewed and adapted
  • Data cleaned, de-duplicated and reconciled to a signed trial balance
  • Cut-over planned around month-end, payroll and Qatar calendars

Moving to ERPNext, or moving ERPNext forward

Migration into ERPNext usually comes from a proprietary ERP whose licences have become expensive, an accounting package the business has outgrown, or a spreadsheet operation that has reached its limit. The process is the same: extract, assess data quality, agree mapping and de-duplication rules, load into a staging site, reconcile counts and balances, and cut over with a short freeze. We migrate accounts, stock, manufacturing, HR and CRM data.

Upgrades are the other project. An ERPNext installation that is a major version or more behind is usually stuck because of customisations or core edits nobody documented. We inventory them, classify each as keep, replace with standard, or drop, adapt the custom apps, migrate the site through the required versions with bench, and test every business process before go-live. The result is a current version on a supported path.

For migrations between other platforms, see ERP migration services; the data migration checklist describes the discipline we apply.

What we hear before a migration or upgrade

“Our ERPNext is on a version nobody supports”

Security updates stopped and every upgrade attempt broke the customisations.

“Our ERP licence renewal costs more than a replacement”

Per-user renewals for a system the company has outgrown.

“The last migration lost history”

Only balances came across.

“We cannot stop trading”

Cut-over has to fit around month-end, payroll and Ramadan.

What we migrate and upgrade

Master data

Customers, suppliers, items, employees and price lists, de-duplicated and bilingual.

Open documents and balances

Open invoices, bills, orders and opening balances reconciled to a signed trial balance.

History

Closed documents, stock ledger and deals migrated where the source allows and the business needs them.

Custom apps

Inventoried, classified and adapted for the target version, or replaced with standard features.

Integrations

Re-pointed and re-tested against the new system or version.

Print formats and reports

Bilingual documents and reports rebuilt where the version changed them.

Sources and paths

From accounting packages

Tally, QuickBooks, Sage and desktop packages into ERPNext Accounts with reconciled balances.

From proprietary ERPs

SAP Business One, Dynamics, Oracle and custom ERPs through database extracts and mapping.

From Odoo or Zoho

When the business wants ERPNext's economics or framework; data mapped module by module.

ERPNext version upgrades

Through the required versions with bench, custom apps adapted and tested.

Hosting moves

Between Frappe Cloud and in-country infrastructure.

Validation

Counts, balances and process tests signed off before cut-over.

The Qatar specifics

Bilingual master data

Arabic and English names preserved and transliteration issues resolved before load.

VAT and e-invoicing continuity

Tax settings and e-invoicing configuration verified on the new system before the first live invoice.

Cut-over timing

Planned around month-end, payroll, Ramadan and Eid.

Data handled carefully

Extracts secured, access limited, interim files deleted after sign-off.

How the engagement runs

Each stage has a real duration against it, so you can plan around it.

1 week
03

Migrate and test

Staging load or upgraded site, reconciliation and full process testing.

Cut over

Final delta, sign-off, go-live and support through the first close.

What it costs

We do not publish a price, because the honest answer depends on scope. What we can publish is exactly what you will be paying for, and which part usually gets forgotten.

Why businesses pick us

Partner on four platforms, not one

We are a Zoho, Odoo, ERPNext and ManageEngine partner and also implement Salesforce. If ERPNext is the wrong fit for the problem you described, we will say so before you buy licences rather than after.

Arabic and English in one system

Interface, documents and reports in both, which matters when the team works in Arabic and management reads reports in English.

Configured for Qatari practice

Invoicing workflows configurable around GTA e-invoicing, VAT treatment set at entry, and payroll outputs shaped for WPS and GRSIA.

We stay after go-live

The first month-end close surfaces everything the scoping missed. Most of the real value of an implementation is delivered in those weeks.

A team in Doha, not a ticket queue

Consultants you can meet, in your timezone and your working week, who scoped the project and then configured it.

We will tell you not to buy

If the problem is your data or your process rather than your software, a new licence will not fix it. We say that early.

Organisations we have worked with

A selection of the organisations we have delivered ERP and business software work for, across finance, healthcare, trading, logistics and professional services.

Questions before you book

Yes. We inventory the customisations, decide with you which to keep, replace or drop, adapt the custom apps, migrate the site and test every process before go-live.

Yes. Data is migrated through extracts and documented mapping, with balances reconciled and history migrated where needed.

Not if the source can export it and you need it. We agree the history scope up front.

A lightly customised site upgrades in two to four weeks; heavily customised sites take longer because of adaptation and testing.

No. The migration or upgrade runs in staging while you keep working. Cut-over needs a short freeze, usually over a weekend.

Yes. We plan the move, migrate the site and re-test integrations.
